Brew the perfect cup of coffee in your RV with AeroPress
Alan Adler was a frustrated coffee lover. Every attempt to make a good cup of coffee at home was disappointing. So he set out to correct that by first identifying the perfect conditions for brewing the best possible cup of coffee, then spent more than a year to create the best possible coffee maker. The AeroPress is that coffee maker. And fortunately, it is the ideal coffee maker for RVers.
First the technology
SMOOTHEST Using the ideal water temperature and gentle air pressure brewing yields rich flavor with lower acidity and without bitterness.
RICHEST Total immersion brewing results in uniform extraction of the ultimate in full coffee flavor. Other coffee makers drip hot water on bed of grounds, over extracting at the center and under extracting at the edge.
PUREST Because of the micro filter, a fine grind – the best for extracting the richest coffee flavors – can be used for grit free coffee. Grit, if allowed to pass into the cup of coffee also continues to brew in the cup, increasing bitterness and acidity.
FASTEST One minute from start to enjoy. The actual press time takes only 20 seconds. Coffee gives up its rich flavors quickly. Extended brewing time results in over extraction and results in a bitter, acidic taste. AeroPress’s ideal total brewing time of 30 seconds is the same as an espresso machine. A French press requires 4 to 5 minutes of steep time. Gravity powered drip coffee makers also take too long. The AeroPress’s small size, and 1 to 4 cup capacity, makes it ideal for RVers. If you are a boondocker, the AeroPress requires no electricity and you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee or afternoon latte in the time it takes to boil water plus one minute. Now that’s an eye opener.
I handed the AeroPress over to my wife, Lynn, who is a fussy and demanding expresso drinker, whose day is not commplete until she has her afternoon latte. She had previously concurred with Alan Adlers frustration in brewing a good home cup of coffee (in our case a good RV cup of coffee), but after trying the AeroPress she was converted, and now uses it every afternoon. But I am a morning coffee drinker, and am now able to make my two morning cups in a fraction of the time of my drip machine. And the taste! Well, try it for yourself and you too may become a convert.
