I love this idea, and I love that there are people who are able to bring items like this to market using current technology to make our lives better.

This simple but life saving device is great, it could save the live for your family pet or family member from changes that can be easily fixed by just moving them to a different location.

I know how I feel about my pets they are my kids, so a simple device like this could make me fell better and safer knowing I am in better touch with them, even with me not being their.

My only issue with this device is it uses the T-Mobile network, now I do not have issue with T-Mobile what I have issue with is T-Mobile does not have great coverage, so anyone could be out of range for this device to work, or could get high roaming charge (I do not know if there is roaming on this device)

So other than this issue I think this device could have great uses for family or pets so take a look and see if it works for you.

Escapees club Moblie phone applications

Mobile Applications

Mobile applications can be extremely useful while on the road. Whether you are looking for a place to stay, somewhere to dump your tanks, or just a great place to eat, you can bet “there’s an app for that!”

Here at Escapees we are always trying to make your life on the road easier, so we’ve decided to compile a list of some of our favorite “must have” apps that we feel specifically meet the needs of RVers. Enjoy and happy travels!

Google Maps- Free
The free Google maps application is almost a no-brainer to have handy on your phone. It can replace your paper map altogether while helping you find destinations and businesses along the way, and provides directions, all with the ease of turn-by-turn navigation. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

Allstays- $9.99
Allstays massive directory holds more than 28,000 campgrounds. You can easily find what you are looking for by filtering amenities and by type of park, i.e. private, national or state park, BLM land. Once you have found a campground, you can view their website, phone number, and directions. One of the best things about this app is that you can use it with or without Internet! Available for iPhone and Android devices.

GasBuddy- Free
GasBuddy lets you search for gas prices by city, state, zip code, with listings for all cities in the USA and Canada. The prices are updated in real-time and show the time it was located, allowing you to fill up on the cheapest gas near you with ease. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

Sanidumps- $2.51
The Sanidumps app has the largest up-to-date RV dump station listings found anywhere. Quickly identify locations for emptying the gray- and black-water holding tanks in your trailer, camper, or motorhome. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

Yelp- Free
Need to find a shop that sells RV parts? Not sure where to eat for dinner? The Yelp app is a great way to find businesses and restaurants near you. You can read and write reviews, get directions, and even view menus and photos! Available for iPhone and Android devices.

WeatherBug- Free
The WeatherBug app makes it easy to view the forecast up to 10 days in advance, which may be very helpful when planning ahead for your next destination. View interactive weather maps, live weather cams, and also view severe weather alerts in areas you might be traveling to. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

Key Ring- Free
One of the great things about RVing is that you find new things in every town, which could potentially lead to several loyalty cards to different stores (especially grocery stores) in order to receive discounts. Those pesky cards can fill up your wallet quickly, and this handy app helps you avoid an overstuffed wallet. On top of storing all of your cards in one place, it has coupons for over 15,000 retailers that you can redeem right from your phone. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

Trip Journal- $2.99
This application lets you keep a virtual journal of your travels and share them with your friends and family. You can pinpoint your travels on a map, log your thoughts, and add photos and videos along your way. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

Wi-Fi Finder- Free
H
aving trouble with your MiFi card or finding that the Internet in your campground is unreliable? With over 550,000 locations in 144 countries worldwide, this app can help you find free or paid Wi-Fi locations around you. This app works both online and offline and gives you hotspot details, location, and also gives you directions using GPS. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

State Lines- $4.99
E
very state is different, and State Lines helps you quickly locate the highly variable laws and regulations. State Lines tracks over 55 pieces of travel-relevant information for each of the 50 states, including towing & RV specific laws, phone & texting bans, gas/diesel taxes, default speed limits, seat belt & child safety seat regulations, alcohol sales & taxes, rest area overnight parking laws, and much more. Available for iPhone and Android devices.

SatFinder- Free
SatFinder will easily help you set up your satellite dish each time you move to a new location. It finds your location based on GPS and displays results both as numeric data and graphically on Google maps. This particular free satellite finder app is currently only available for Android devices.

While Escapees RV Club currently does not have a mobile application, we do have a mobile-friendly website that features a park locator. This tool makes it easy to find discount parks near you and navigate to them, all with the ease of turn-by-turn navigation. We are also in the process of expanding this tool to include new features. Simply visit www.escapees.com/mobile to get started today!

Do you have a favorite app that you don’t see listed here? Send it to us at submit@escapees.com so we can share it with others!

Mobile Internet the do’s and don’ts of getting online while on the road

Mobile Internet

via Mobile Internet.

Here is a great parts list and real world experience from an rv’er that HAS to stay connected while on the road.

Many people who make rving fulltimming a choice run into the issue “how do I stay connected” most of us have gotten to the point that we need the internet for a lot of a day to day things, if it is planning your next campground, shopping, advice, Facebook staying in contact with family (FaceTime or skyping) you will need the internet and if you have spent any time in a campground that “offer free Wi-Fi” you will find out the HARD way it is far from like a sticks and brick high speed.

So if you need to get on the internet while on the road and you need more than “only once in a great while” (not me) then you must read this and the other sponsors that have spent a good amount of their time and money to figure this all out for all the rest of us who have not been there yet.
